Setting The Dice
Setting the dice is a term that is used by those intentionally trying to set the outcome of their throws when playing craps.
This is also the very first phase of dice control and will determine if you win or loose the game. There are 36 different outcomes of the dice faces in Craps, so it is you job to determine which combination you need to pick up in order for a specific outcome to be revealed that is in line with your wagers within the game.
The most common dice set is the V format. This is when you position the dice with double 3 facing upwards, you should then roll the dice as you previously practiced to get a double 6.
Due to the technique become more popular, some casinos have now placed throwing rules in craps games. These include those such as the dice must either hit the end of the table wall or at least bounce mid throw. You have to throw the dice smoothly rather than drop it and you must not slow the game down, for example releasing the dice too slowly.
After you have taken the dice from the dealer you may feel you are not in the position to change the dice faces to your advantage. You have two options here. You can either try your luck with that combination or you can ask the dealer to set your dice to double 6, you can then apply your throwing technique.
