With an estimated worth of $7 billion, this man is a force to be reckoned with. Ho Hung-sun is better known as Stanley Ho and his casino wealth centres around the Asian gambling capital of Macau. Nicknamed the ‘king of gambling’ due to his firm grip on the monopoly granted license from the Chinese government. Stanley Ho has held the monopoly license within Macau for 40 years now and it is one of the few gambling cities that has weathered the economic storm well.

The early years of Mr Ho are questionable in their legality. His first fortune was amassed through smuggling goods from China. Obviously in this line of work he was exposed to some dangerous situations and perhaps the most famous is an encounter he had with pirates. While at sea, his ship was boarded by pirates who proceeded to kill people on board. Mr Ho offered them money and while the cash he brought to the deck distracted the pirates he managed to get a gun and overwhelm the pirates and regain control of the ship!

This daring overpowering of the pirates established Mr Ho as a tough businessman and an extremely powerful man in Asia. He has properties and businesses around the world. Today he has holdings in casinos both real and virtual and is listed as number 104 of the worlds richest men in Forbes magazine.
