Camouflage
A player who deliberately conceals their actions from the pit boss or casino employees.
Carpet Joint
A slang term for a luxurious and glamorous casino.
Cashier’s Cage
Where players change their chips for cash at the end of a session in a casino. The ‘cage’ is usually an enclosed, secure office which handles huge amounts of money.
Case Money
A player’s emergency cash or chips.
Casino Advantage
A term which means the same as the house edge. The casino’s bias throughout a Craps game.
C & E
A wager on the next roll of the dice being a 2, 3 or 11.
Chips
Circular, plastic tokens to be used instead of money when playing in a casino.
Chip Tray
The stickman’s holder for the chips.
Choppy
Inconsistent throws of the dice, ultimately leading to no winning throws.
Coat Tail
To mimic a player’s bets who is on a winning streak or when the table is hot.
Cold
A term for a gambler on a losing streak.
Cold Table
Shooters are throwing 7s as their first roll of the dice consecutively, making for a choppy game.
Colour Change
The exchange of chips for higher or lower value ones.
Come Bet
These are wagers after the come out roll and which follow onto the Box numbers.
Come Out Roll
The first roll of the dice in a new game. This sets up the point or ends with craps or a natural roll.
Comps
Free complimentary drinks or snacks given to a player by the casino. This depends on the time spent and frequency of gaming.
Craps
The dice totalling 2, 3 or 12 on the come out roll.
Crew
The casino employees assigned to adjudicate the game.
Crossroader
A slang term for a cheat in gambling and casinos
