Craps Budgeting Rules

Gambling becomes a problem when people have no rules to follow. When we say this, we are not talking about the game’s rules.

Whether it is craps or any other game, the player has to set and define his rules on when to leave the game.

Every player should have a certain amount in their head. Once they reach it, whether they are losing or winning, they should leave the game. This prevents them from chasing more money or money that was lost. Instead, they switch off the game and walk away.

Make a note of all money lost and won and start looking in detail at how you are getting on week to week. The results can be surprising, as many players tend to think they win more than they lose, while this is frequently not the case.

The euphoria of winning tends to overshadow the losses. The human mind can easily be tricked into thinking that the profits of gambling are higher than they really are.

This is why monitoring your performances is crucial.

Understand your budget. Take an hour to work out how it would affect you if you lost an X amount of money per month. Always start with the worst case scenario and make sure that the worst case scenario is acceptable. If one hundred dollars lost a month really won’t hurt you, then that is your amount. You can split that into multiple games and see how you go.

If you think you might not have the self discipline to only gamble with one hundred dollars a month, you do not have to worry. You can set a betting limit with the casino of your choice. This does, of course, require the discipline to properly assess how much you can afford to lose.

When you search the interface, you will see an option to set these limits. Once this has been done, you cannot possibly go beyond your amount.
Play smart and play safe.
